Sports have always been a major aspect of my life. Growing up in the Washington D.C. area, this was especially true with lacrosse. Quickly seeing the connection between a yoga practice and fewer injuries on the field, I began to share yoga with my teammates. Over the past five years I has enjoyed teaching yoga to lacrosse teams all over Northern California. It was a natural step to seek the yoga training necessary to integrate teaching into my life. I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification through Jennifer Prugh’s Joy of Yoga Teacher Training in 2014. Then continuing on I just finished my 500hr certification with the Joy of Yoga program, which I highly recommend to anyone interested in this path. I have taken training that covers a broad area, including dynamic styles of yoga, restorative, trauma recovery, and breath work.

My personal practice is primarily in the morning in the Mysore room at Breathe Together Los Gatos.  My first teacher who worked with me for years was Erika Abrahamian.  A fantastic teacher who I would highly recommend you visit if you are in the Santa Cruz area.  I currently study under the instruction of Mojdeh Zahiraleslamzadeh, who has been profound in my education.

A fantastic resource for my continued education has come from James Brown at American Yoga School. Without his vast knowledge I would not be where I am today.   If you're interested in chatting, or have any questions I would be more than happy to talk yoga or anything in general with you.

My Story:

I first experimented with yoga for the first time 10 years ago in a community college class in Chico, CA. Being stiff would be an understatement, as I could barely touch my ankles. Although I remember being sore after my first class, the calming sleep which took place that night sparked interest in coming back for more. After transferring south to San Jose State to finish his degree in Meteorology, I began to find a more steady practice.
